About Green Valley Co-op

Green Valley Agricultural Cooperative was founded in 1991 by a group of 12 local farmers who shared a vision: by working together, small and mid-sized farms could compete in the marketplace while preserving the rural character and environmental health of our region.

Our Mission

To strengthen local agriculture by providing cooperative marketing, shared resources, and community support that enables member farms to thrive economically while stewarding the land for future generations.

How We Work

Our member-owned cooperative operates on democratic principles. Each member farm has one vote regardless of size, and profits are distributed equitably based on participation. We provide:

  • Collective marketing and brand identity
  • Shared equipment and cold storage
  • Group purchasing for seeds, feed, and supplies
  • Technical assistance and educational programs
  • Access to local and regional markets

Board of Directors

Our seven-member board is elected annually by the membership and serves on a volunteer basis. Board meetings are open to all members.
